Hadronic collisions at the LHC and QCD at high density

Location

The school will be held at the Centre de Physique des Houches. Les Houches is a small village in the Vallée de Chamonix (see also), very close to the Massif du Mont-Blanc. Les Houches is located at 75 kms (approx. 50 minutes) from Geneva, at 600 kms from Paris, and at 170 kms from Torino (Italy).

Accomodation cost

Full board accomodation at the Centre de Physique des Houches costs 73 euros per night per participant. Participants to the school are expected to arrive on Monday March 24th, and to leave on Friday April 4th, which means that they will spend 11 nights on site. Therefore, the total cost of the local expenses will be 800 euros per participant for the duration of the school.

Important notice: in order to encourage participants to attend the school in its entirety, the Centre de Physique des Houches will charge the full amount of 800 euros for every participant, no matter how many days are actually spent at the school.

How to get there

The closest airport is the Geneva airport. Ground transportation by shuttle from Geneva airport to Les Houches costs approximately 40 euros one way.

Alternatively, one can arrive by train at Saint Gervais Le Fayet, or even at Les Houches (with a connection in Saint Gervais), and take a taxi from there to the Centre de Physique.
