Noise Models for Quantum Maps and Algorithms

Noise Models for Quantum Maps and Algorithms

We discuss several models that simulate the behaviour of quantum maps in interaction with a Markovian environment. The models are constructed as superoperators in phase space or alternatively with Pauli operators. For diagonal noise we present an efficient numerical procedure to evaluate the spectral properties of the open map and their relationship with the asymptotic decays of fidelity and entropy.
