Multiple scattering of light in random dielectric media

Multiple scattering of light in random dielectric media

Light propagating in a medium, whose dielectric constant fluctuates in space, undergoes multiple scattering. As a result, a complicated intensity pattern is formed in the medium. Various properties of such intensity patterns will be discussed. Some recent work on trapping of light and “random lasing” will also be mentionned.
