Twisted Split Fermions and the strong CP problem

Split fermions have been shown to be a natural setting for approaching the flavor problem of the standard model. It turns out that they also provide a natural solution to the strong CP problem. Generically, 5D wavefunctions will twist in flavor space. This twisting is precisely the type of effect which can produce a large CKM weak CP phase, but does not produce a strong CP phase. I will explain this phenomenon and show how to construct a complete model which address both flavor and CP with order one parameters and minimal field content.
