In the first part of the course I will give an introduction to the basics of AdS/CFT. Then I will discuss the standard examples of gravity/duals of N=1 SYM (Klebanov-Strassler, Maldacena-Nunez) and how to introduce flavours in the correspondence. To finish I will discuss recent applications of the duality to condensed matter models. NOTE: The first lecture of the course will be held on Friday March 19th instead of Friday March 12th.
