Signals of new physics from cosmic rays below the GZK energy
Whether the GZK cutoff is observed or not, there are some hints for new physics in the cosmic-ray data. Recent observations suggest the presence of a fraction of neutral particles with energies of order $10^{19}$ eV travelling for cosmological distances. This fact can hardly be explained within the standard physics and astrophysics.
