Searching for Scientific Information: Theory and Practice

Searching for Scientific Information: Theory and Practice

The purpose of this seminar is to present in simple terms the theoretical bases of scientific information retrieval as used by researchers. This theory will then be put into practice using tools available through different websites accessible from the IPhT/SPEC. It is primarily intended for young researchers (PhD students and Postdocs), in particular, those who experience difficulties in navigating the French documentation system. More experienced researchers are welcome. The seminar is co-organized with Emmanuelle de Laborderie, in charge of the documentation of the IPhT/SPEC, who will help to answer the questions raised.
