I will start by motivating the subject of non-relativistic holography and discuss two different approaches that are based on Lifshitz and Schroedinger space-times. It has recently become clear that these are fairly generic solutions of string theory and that there are interesting relations with AdS space-times. I will discuss what we can learn from this regarding the basic holographic features of Lifshitz and Schroedinger space-times. In the second part I will focus more on black hole solutions.
