In this talk I will discuss two constructions of multi-centered solutions in AdS$_3$. In the first example I will consider a class of point-particle solutions in pure gravity, and show that the mathematical object underlying their construction is a particular Virasoro conformal block. The second example involves particles which also source a massless scalar, and which arise in a simple example of Martinec's W-brane idea. These objects turn on the singleton modes of the scalar and are most naturally interpreted in the chiral boundary conditions of Compere, Song and Strominger.
