Several variants of the 2D statistical model of non-crossing loops are introduced; equivalent formulations as certain Markov processes are also provided. On the other hand, Alternating Sign Matrices in various symmetry classes are defined, and their enumeration discussed. The relationship between these two objects will be the main subject of the talk. In particular, sum rules will be derived, and the Razumov-Stroganov conjecture formulated.
