Learning to love the scatter in Type Ia Supernovae

Learning to love the scatter in Type Ia Supernovae

Gravitational lensing is a very powerful probe of cosmology, allowing for the investigation of both the composition of the Universe and the mechanisms determining the formation of structure. In this talk I will first introduce the basics of gravitational lensing and the experiments planned for the near future and I will then focus on whether and to what extent the lensing of Type Ia Supernovae can be used to constrain cosmological parameters.
