Information-theoretic reconstructions of quantum theory
What belongs to quantum theory is no more than what is needed for its derivation. Keeping to this maxim, we record a paradigmatic shift in the foundations of quantum mechanics, where the focus has recently moved to reconstructing rather than interpreting quantum theory. We discuss the concept of information-theoretic reconstruction and we briefly introduce the results due to Hardy, Popescu, Spekkens, and Clifton, Bub and Halvorson. We then propose an information-theoretic derivation of the Hilbert space with the help of quantum logical techniques.
