In this talk first I would like to give an overview of some of the recent progress towards exactly solving N=4 SYM through the string side of the AdS/CFT correspondence, mention its possible consequences and then describe how one can obtain, from a string computation, perturbative results for the Konishi operator up to five loops. I would also discuss new features appearing in the five loop computation which were the main motivation for carrying out this project.
