By tracking the arrival times of radio pulses from a collection of pulsars in the Milky Way, several pulsar timing array collaborations have found evidence for a background of gravitational waves permeating our galaxy. In this talk, I will present this evidence, review possible cosmological and astrophysical interpretations of the signal, and discuss ways to discriminate between them.
