A two dimensional analog of the Luttinger model

A two dimensional analog of the Luttinger model

I discuss a particular continuum limit of a interacting 2D lattice fermion model without spin so that the resulting model can be partially solved exactly using bosonization, and I will argue that there is an interesting parameter regime where the remaining degrees of freedom can be treated in mean field theory. In this parameter regime the model is amenable to non-perturbative, semi-analytical solution methods. The method can be generalized to the 2D Hubbard model.
