Group B’s research themes encompass strong interactions (quantum chromodynamics), the Standard Model of particle physics and its extensions, as well as aspects of astrophysics and cosmology. Despite the wide range of fields considered, a common approach in the group’s research is to start from a description of interactions at a fundamental level, and to explore the possible observational and phenomenological consequences of these interactions. The group’s work therefore ranges from the development of theoretical tools in quantum field theory to questions directly related to experimental aspects.
