Housed in a former chapel, the Grande Galerie in Viry-Châtillon is hosting an exhibition by Hélène Launois from 26 September to 24 October 2026. The artist is presenting her installations, videos and sculptures, inspired by images and objects from the field of physics. She has invited Grégoire Misguich, a researcher at the Institute of Theoretical Physics (IPhT, CEA Saclay), to exhibit his own creations.
They have also created two common installations on the theme of solitons. This collaboration builds on the dialogue established with scientists during the artist’s residency at the CEA between 2017 and 2023. LED panels and strips display the shifting, colourful forms that emerge from real-time digital simulations: the Ising model, random tilings, the Schrödinger equation, reaction-diffusion… all images that take shape as the calculations progress and never repeat themselves.
