Pierre Vanhove of the IPhT and Charles Doran of the University of Alberta in Edmonton have just co‑authored an article in the popular science magazine La Recherche (no. 584, January–March 2026).
In this article, the authors emphasize the importance of precision calculations for particle physics and the detection of gravitational waves. They introduce readers to the underlying multidimensional integrals, known as Feynman integrals, and then present the relationship between these integrals and the theory of motives in algebraic geometry. The piece concludes with a presentation of their results on the subject.
