EWSB&LHC@IPhT

A mini-series of mini-workshops on the Physics of ElectroWeak Symmetry Breaking and the LHC at the Institut de Physique Théorique at Saclay.

Hosted by the BSM group.

2-3 March 2009

IPhT CEA/Saclay, Salle 50

Welcome! The workshop has been an interactive exchange among few people on new directions in physics at the weak scale at the beginning of the LHC era. There have been a few review and pedagogical talks on models, phenomenology and tools for new physics and lots of time for discussions and interaction.
Speakers:Aldo Deandrea (Lyon)Shrihari Gopalakrishna (BNL)
Ben Gripaios (CERN)Maurizio Piai (Swansea)Gero von Gersdorff (CERN)Benjamin Fuks (Strasbourg)
Practical Information:
Directions: The IPhT is located 25km south of Paris. Find here directions to the IPhT/Saclay. The trip from downtown Paris requires about 45 minutes. More info on how to get around Paris on the website of the RATP public transportation network.

Accommodation: All speakers and guests stayed at the Hotel du Midi, in the Denfert-Rochereau area of Paris. The Hotel is located just in front of the stop “Denfert-Rochereau” of the RER B express-train line, which connects to both Paris airports (via Antony for the Orly airport). More info on the hotel access web page. From the hotel to Saclay one just takes the RER B train and follows the directions above.

Web Connection: If you came with your own laptop, adapted with wireless connectivity, you easily had access to our guest wifi network. If your laptop needed a cabled ethernet connection you informed us (we needed the MAC address of your network card). If you had required a desktop account, you had informed us as well.

Mini-social dinner: On tuesday evening we went for dinner at L’Auberge de la Butte aux Cailles (8 rue de la Butte aux Cailles, 13eme, Paris).

Schedule: The workshop took place on two days. We had three talks of about 1h each per day with ample time for discussions. The schedule has been the following:
