Séminaire exceptionnel: A Path to Precision Cosmology

Séminaire exceptionnel: A Path to Precision Cosmology

Mariana Carillo-Gonzalez

In this talk, I will explore how theoretical and phenomenological frameworks can sharpen our search for new physics at cosmological scales. I will begin by discussing how techniques developed for scattering amplitudes in flat space can be adapted to cosmological backgrounds. In particular, I will show that demanding causal propagation on non-trivial backgrounds imposes bounds on the Wilson coefficients of effective field theories relevant for cosmology—an important insight, as these priors can significantly influence parameter inference from data. I will then briefly outline two complementary approaches. On the theoretical side, I will describe how the self-dual subsector of cosmology can illuminate symmetry structures in curved space and offers a path to constructing cosmological correlators analogous to MHV amplitudes. On the phenomenological side, I will demonstrate how semi-analytic methods can be used to compute the weak lensing bispectrum, including unequal-time correlations that are often neglected but will become crucial in the upcoming era of high-precision galaxy surveys.
