We will try to explore if holography can help us towards a better phenomenological understanding of the RHIC fireball. We will argue that holography suggests a set of phenomenological equations to model the thermalization and subsequent hydrodynamic expansion of the fireball in an unified framework. These phenomenological equations can work with an arbitrary initial state and thus making guesses for the initial conditions of the hydrodynamic expansion becomes unnecessary. Furthermore, we will see holography can be used to model transport of hadrons in the fireball. We will show that holography gives a novel way to obtain the collective relaxation modes of the fireball from the spectral function of hadrons. We will discuss a specific holographic model to model the space-time evolution of hadronic spectral and statistical functions.
