If two ring polymers are unconcatenated, there is entropic repulsion between them due to quenched topology. Whan there are many rings in the dense system, the problem become challenging. While the solution in 2D is known (B. Duplantier), the solution in 3D is not known. I will review the problem, the status of extensive simulations, existing Flory theory, and the deemed relevance of this models for genome folding.
