Path and field integrals in physics: the main achievements

The usefulness of path and field integrals in physics, in particular their mathematical reliability, have been for a long time disputed, before becoming generally accepted. I shall describe what have been the main physics results for which the path integral formalism has played, I believe, an essential role.
