In the recent years the gauge/gravity correspondence has been broaden to try to encompass phenomena coming from condensed matter systems. Many of the superstring solutions describing these systems have been found with the aid of consistent truncations, that, in consequence, have experience a revival of interest. A breakthrough was the observation that one can consistently retain a small number of massive modes, crucial for obtaining solutions with non-relativistic scalings. In this context, we will present a vast class of consistent massive truncations of type IIB supergravity on squashed Sasaki-Einstein manifolds, leading to gauged supergravities in five dimensions with either N=4 or N=2, and comment on the type of holographic solutions they can provide, including superconductors and systems with non-relativistic scaling, both Schrödinger and Lifshitz. In the particular case of the $T^{1,1}$, the truncation can be enlarged to include some modes relevant for conifold solutions and giving a new family of $AdS_5$. We will also mention briefly how to construct BPS Domain Walls in these theories.
