Marco Cirelli  has just obtained an ERC Starting Grant of 5 years for his project "New Directions in Dark Matter Phenomenology at the TeV scale".

The NewDark project focuses on the phenomenology of Dark Matter, particles which constitute 80% of the matter in the Universe (as many astrophysical and cosmological observations now confirm) but have never been discovered directly. The next few years will bring a large amount of data (from cosmic ray observations, gamma ray telescopes, underground nuclear recoil experiments and the Large Hadron Collider at CERN) thoroughly exploring for the first time the TeV scale, where the Dark Matter particles are expected to hide. The project aims at making the most of these data, addressing the issue from different complementary directions by combining particle physics theory, cosmology and astrophysics.
