The IPhT Symposium 2008 took place in Batz-sur-Mer (Loire-Atlantique) from Wednesday 15 October 2008 till Friday 17 October 2008, in the hotel VVF « les Salines » (older site). All members from IPhT (researchers, support staff, post-docs, PhD students and visitors) were invited.

Transportation
For people travelling with the group, the schedule was as follows:
- outward journey on 15 October : departure by train (TGV 8805)
- Paris-Montparnasse : 7:30 AM, reserved seats in coaches 15 (20 seats), 19 (7 s.) and 20 (20 s.)
- Massy-TGV : 7:41 AM, reserved seats in coaches 18 (36 seats) and 19 (5 pl.)
- return on 17 October : departure at 4:15 PM by bus from the VVF to the train station Le Croisic, then TGV 8964 (5:17 PM), arrival at
- Paris-Montparnasse : 8:40 PM, reserved seats in coaches 5 (5 seats), 6 (18 s.) et 8 (20 s.)
- Massy-TGV : 9:18 PM (after connection in Nantes on TGV 5342). Reserved seats : TGV 8964 coaches 7 (35 s.) and 8 (4 s.), TGV 5342 coaches 18 (35 s.) and 17 (4 s.)

Activities
Free time was planned on Thursday 16 from 3 PM. Three activies were proposed :
- eleven-kilometer run around the Croisic peninsula
- visit of the town of Guérande (famous for its salt), ten kilometers away (travel by bus)
- bicycle rental for the afternoon or more (deposit of 160 € by check required).
Misc
The VVF provided wireless Internet access.
