Description and Main topics

This school will be mostly directed at PhD students and postdocs, but also to established researchers who want to get acquainted with these aspects of QCD.

• QCD at high parton density and the nuclear wavefunction at small x

• Initial conditions in hadronic and nuclear collisions

• Thermalization, instabilities, and turbulence

• Kinetic theory

• Hydrodynamics

• QCD at finite temperature

• AdS/CFT and the physics of a strongly coupled quark-gluon plasma

• Hard probes, jet quenching

• Correlations and fluctuations

• Experimental results from RHIC and prospects for the LHC

In addition, a number of more specialized topics will be addressed in the form of seminars.
