Assuming that the boson recently discovered at the LHC is the long sought Higgs particle, I will discuss several implications from the experimental data gathered so far. \ 1) Its light mass ($m_hsim 126$ GeV) has profound implications for the stability of the electroweak vacuum in the context of the pure Standard Model. \ 2) A global fit to available LHC (plus Tevatron) experimental data from Higgs searches allows to study to what extent this particle's couplings are consistent with the SM predictions and whether there is room for deviations (as would be natural to expect from BSM physics). \ 3) The same global fit also allows to set significant bounds on a possible invisible branching ratio of this particle.
