The AdS/CFT correspondence predicts a duality between string theory on an AdS background, and a conformal field theory living on the boundary of the AdS space. This duality is believed to simplify in the tensionless limit where additional (higher spin) symmetries are expected to emerge. We analyse this limit for the case of AdS3/CFT2, for which we can identify both a solvable world-sheet theory (the background with minimal amount of pure NS-NS flux), as well as a solvable dual 2d CFT (the symmetric orbifold theory). I will then explain various pieces of evidence that support our claim that these two theories are exactly dual to one another.
