Cosmological implications of poly-instanton effects

In the context of LARGE volume type IIB orientifold compactification, we present the zero mode analysis relevant for generation of poly-instanton corrections to the holomorphc superpotential via Euclidian D3-branes wrapping a suitable divisor. Such so-called Wilson divisors are complex surfaces represented as CP$^1$ fibration over two-tori. After presenting a couple of working examples of such surfaces along with explicit embeddings of the same into compact Calabi-Yau threefolds, we investigate the inflationary aspects. We find that the divisor volume modulus corresponding to the Wilson divisor is a flat-direction in the absence of poly-instanton effects. The flatness is lifted once these sub-leading corrections are included and results in a slow-roll inflationary potential. This presents a new class of Kaehler moduli inflationary model in LARGE volume scenarios.
